Brian Snitker’s future with the Atlanta Braves beyond 2025 remains uncertain, but the decision seems to rest more with him than the organization. At 69 years old, Snitker remains energetic and committed—yet acknowledges his future is “up in the air.” With no contract beyond this season, he and GM Alex Anthopoulos will eventually sit down for what could be a franchise-shaping conversation.
The speculation surrounding his possible retirement isn’t new. Industry insiders Jon Heyman and Ken Rosenthal have both floated the idea, with Rosenthal even suggesting a front-office transition might be in the cards if Snitker steps away from managing.
Since taking over in 2016, Snitker has led the Braves to six consecutive NL East titles, a World Series win in 2021, and consistent postseason appearances, building a legacy that cements him alongside Bobby Cox in franchise lore.
Whether he returns to the dugout in 2026 or not, Snitker’s impact on the Braves—and on baseball—is indelible. His long climb through the minor league ranks to World Series champion manager makes him one of the sport’s most respected figures.
