GOOD NEWS: Just now Indiana Fever Head Coach Stephanie White just officially announced the return of fan favorite Caitlin Clark…

Caitlin Clark Breaks Silence on Injury Comeback Timeline

Star rookie rules herself out vs. Sky, eyes return soon after

After missing three straight games for the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark has provided an update on her return from the left quad strain that’s sidelined her since May 24. The injury occurred during a narrow 90–88 loss to the New York Liberty, and while she initially played through the discomfort, an MRI later confirmed the strain — ruling her out for an expected two-week period.

Clark will miss the Fever’s upcoming showdown against the Chicago Sky, which also means fans will be deprived — at least for now — of another high-profile matchup between Clark and her emerging on-court rival, Angel Reese. However, there’s reason for optimism that Clark’s return could be imminent.

“I’ll miss this weekend’s game [against Chicago], but after that it’s day-to-day,” Clark said, per Yahoo Sports. “I’ve made a lot of progress, but I’m going to trust the medical staff and not rush anything.”

Since Clark’s injury, Indiana dropped two consecutive games — to the Mystics and the Sun — before bouncing back with a win over Washington. Even off the court, Clark’s influence on the team and fan interest remains significant, and her return could offer a major boost as the season progresses.

The Fever’s schedule offers a short break after the Sky game, with their next contest set for June 10 against the Atlanta Dream, followed by a June 14 rematch with the Liberty. Clark isn’t ruling out a return in either of those games but isn’t locking herself into a date either.

“We’ll see,” she said. “It’s really a day-by-day thing. Some mornings I wake up and feel way better, some days not so much. We’re being cautious — we don’t want to risk making it worse.”

Clark emphasized that there’s no pressure to rush back to the court, particularly with a long WNBA season ahead.

“It’s just not worth it to come back too soon,” she added. “Once we get through the weekend, we’ll reevaluate and go from there.”

As it stands, the Fever are currently third in the WNBA’s Eastern Conference and seventh overall, holding a .429 winning percentage. Clark’s return could be pivotal as Indiana looks to climb the standings and solidify its postseason hopes.
