PITTSBURGH — Steelers’ Pat Freiermuth Celebrates Engagement After Bounce-Back Season

In recent years, the Pittsburgh Steelers have dealt with ongoing instability on offense, shuffling quarterbacks and rotating wide receivers. One position, however, has remained largely steady: tight end. And one of the consistent standouts in that room has been Pat Freiermuth.

Drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Freiermuth quickly became a core piece of Pittsburgh’s offense. Known for his tenacity on the field and ability to celebrate big plays—especially touchdowns—he now has another reason to celebrate off the field.

Freiermuth recently shared on social media that he’s engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Jillian Cataldo. The proposal marks a special moment for the couple, especially as the NFL offseason offers players more personal time before the grind of another season begins.

Following an injury-plagued 2023 season, Freiermuth rebounded in 2024 with a strong showing. He hauled in 65 catches for 653 yards and seven touchdowns, proving once again that he’s a reliable target in the Steelers’ passing game.

His resurgence didn’t go unnoticed by the organization. Ahead of the 2024 season, Freiermuth signed a four-year contract extension worth $48.4 million, solidifying his role as the Steelers’ top tight end for the foreseeable future.
