Caitlin Clark Expresses Desire to Spend Her Entire Career in Indiana: “It’s Just Really Different Here”

WNBA star Caitlin Clark has opened up about her love for Indiana, sharing that she hopes to play her entire professional career with the Indiana Fever. Speaking to ESPN, Clark expressed deep appreciation for the state’s unique basketball culture and the passionate support of its fans.

Clark has been a visible and enthusiastic supporter of the Indiana Pacers during their impressive postseason run, even attending Game 3 of the NBA Finals, where she sat courtside for their electrifying win. In her recent comments, she revealed that she and Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton both envision long-term futures in Indianapolis.

“Ty and I would both tell you this is where we want to spend our careers,” Clark said. “People talk about it being a small market, but that’s what makes it so special. Basketball here is everything to these people.”

Reflecting on the Pacers’ rare Finals appearance, Clark highlighted how deeply the moment resonates with the community.

“We haven’t had a Finals game here in 25 years,” she noted. “Seeing people line up three hours before tipoff, it gives me chills. The excitement is unreal.”

Clark also drew a parallel between the support for the Pacers and what she has experienced with the Fever, emphasizing how basketball carries a different weight in Indiana. Quoting Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle, she added, “Like Rick says, in 49 other states it’s just basketball—but here, it’s something else entirely.”

She concluded by saying how grateful she feels to be a part of such a passionate basketball culture and shared that Haliburton feels the same way.
