The Indiana Fever will enter Saturday’s clash with the Chicago Sky missing Caitlin Clark and two other vital team members, all of whom suffered season-ending injuries during Thursday’s loss to the Phoenix Mercury.
Clark has been sidelined since straining her right groin in the second-to-last matchup before the All-Star break. Head coach Stephanie White has not yet offered a projected date for her return.
Her absence is now compounded by the setbacks to Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald. Colson tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee during the opening quarter on Thursday, while McDonald sustained a broken bone in her right foot later in the game.
McDonald, taken with the third overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft by the Atlanta Dream, has become a key contributor for Indiana this season, averaging 9.8 points, 4.7 assists, and 1.3 steals.
Colson, who joined the Fever as a free agent in February after three years with Las Vegas, played in 30 games this season, averaging 2.4 points and 2.0 assists.
