Club-Brugge-Trainer Nicky Hayen hat bestätigt, dass Hans Vanaken und Simon Mignolet aufgrund schwerwiegender Probleme das morgige Spiel verpassen werden.

Club Brugge edge past Atalanta and Vanaken weighs in on Jashari’s Milan saga

Club Brugge advanced after a thrilling 3-2 win over Atalanta, having already carried a 2-1 advantage from the first leg. It took the Belgian side only three minutes to extend their lead when Ferran Jutglà broke through the Atalanta defense and set up Chemsdine Talbi, who made no mistake in front of goal.

Atalanta thought they had equalized in the 17th minute through Mateo Retegui, who finished off a Juan Cuadrado cross, but the effort was ruled out for offside.

Brugge struck again before the half-hour mark as Ardon Jashari’s solo counterattack led to Christos Tzolis getting a shot on target, which was parried by Marco Carnesecchi. Talbi reacted quickest to score his second of the night. Just before halftime, Jutglà himself found the net from a Tzolis assist to make it three, effectively sealing the tie.

Away from the pitch, the future of Ardon Jashari continues to dominate headlines. Linked heavily with a move to Milan, the midfielder was left out of Brugge’s squad for the Belgian Super Cup victory over Union Saint-Gilloise.

Club captain Hans Vanaken addressed the situation openly:

  • He admitted he would understand Jashari’s desire to join Milan at his age.
  • He stressed that Brugge can win without him, but the door remains open should Jashari decide to return.
  • Vanaken underlined that the decision now lies with Milan and Brugge’s board, who are demanding €40 million for the Swiss international.

“Of course we’d welcome him back if he’s ready to give everything for Brugge,” Vanaken noted, before adding that only a deal at the right price will see Jashari become a Rossonero.
