Mike Vrabel and the New England Patriots have put together a very busy NFL offseason. The clear goal is to get the franchise back to being a playoff contender.
After suffering through a brutal 2024 season that saw the Patriots end the year with a 4-13 record, ownership quickly made the decision to fire head coach Jerod Mayo. They also quickly replaced him with Vrabel, which is a big upgrade in and of itself.
Following the move to hire Vrabel, New England Patriots focused on improving the roster. The front office made a flurry of moves in free agency and had a quality NFL draft as well.
Among the big offseason moves in free agency were the additions of wide receiver Stefon Diggs, defensive tackle Milton Williams, offensive tackle Morgan Moses, cornerback Carlton Davis, linebacker Robert Spillane, pass rusher Harold Landry, and wide receiver Mack Hollins.
back in the playoff hunt? Only time will tell, but Vrabel has a very confident outlook about the future.
Recently, a clip of Vrabel speaking about New England’s recent history was shared. It came from the Patriots’ “Forged in Foxborough” show.
In the clip, Vrabel lashed out with a fiery NSFW message to the rest of the NFL.
“Why the (expletive) would I care about what happened last year?” Vrabel said. “I’m worried about what’s going to go right today and tomorrow and the next day. We’re not worried about what went wrong. We’re focused on what’s going to go right.”
During Vrabel’s tenure as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans, he built a new culture for the franchise. He taught players how to win, and he did a good job with it. New England needs the same kind of impact from him.
Not only did Vrabel make a positive impact as a head coach, but he is also a former star for the Patriots on the field. Vrabel was a big part of helping lead the franchise to major success and was a part of three Super Bowl wins.
That is exactly what he wants to bring back to New England.
Everything will start on Sept. 7 when the Patriots kick off the regular season against the Las Vegas Raiders at home. New England has a fresh outlook with a new head coach who is very confident that the proud franchise will get back on track sooner rather than later.
