Aaron Michael Nola is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on June 4, 1993, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he was raised in a baseball-centric family. His father, A.J. Nola, coached him in Little League until high school, and his older brother, Austin Nola, also pursued a baseball career, playing as a catcher for the San Diego Padres. The Nola brothers both attended Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, where Aaron excelled as a pitcher, earning the title of “Mr. Baseball” in Louisiana during his senior year.

Aaron continued his baseball journey at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he became one of the most dominant pitchers in school history. He was a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award and was named First-Team All-American in 2014. The Philadelphia Phillies selected him in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut on July 21, 2015, and has since become the Phillies’ ace, starting every Opening Day game for the team since 2018.

Off the field, Aaron is known for his community involvement. He has received the 2023 Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association and has been active in various charitable initiatives, including supporting ALS research and mentoring high school students.

As of June 4, 2025, the Phillies are scheduled to play the Toronto Blue Jays at 4:07 PM PDT. Aaron Nola is expected to start the game, marking his 33rd appearance of the 2025 season. In the 2024 regular season, he posted a 14–8 record with a 3.57 ERA and 197 strikeouts over 199.1 innings
