Background and College Career
Quindell Johnson was born on November 5, 1999, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He played high school football at Edna Karr High School, contributing significantly to the school winning state championships in both 2016 and 2017. His impressive performance earned him a place at the University of Memphis, where he redshirted his first year and then quickly became a fixture in the defensive backfield. Throughout his collegiate career, Johnson compiled an impressive stat line: 320 total tackles, 24 passes defended, and 10 interceptions. His efforts did not go unnoticed, as he was named to the All-AAC second team in 2021 and the first team in 2022.
Path to the NFL
Johnson entered the 2023 NFL Draft but went undrafted. Soon after, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams but was released before the start of the season. He was subsequently picked up off waivers by the Chicago Bears, where he saw action in nine games during his rookie season, registering three tackles and one interception. In September 2024, he rejoined the Rams as part of their practice squad and later inked a reserve/future contract with the San Francisco 49ers in January 2025. Unfortunately, his time with the 49ers was short-lived, as he was waived in May 2025.
