GOOD NEWS: Pittsburgh Steelers The 25-year-old Top QB Just Officially Agreed To A $350 Million Deal To Resign With The Steelers…

Ryan Clark Advocates for Steelers to Re-Sign Justin Fields Over Russell Wilson

Former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark has voiced his opinion on the team’s quarterback situation, urging the organization to re-sign Justin Fields and let Russell Wilson walk in free agency. Clark believes Fields offers the Steelers a chance at upside at the quarterback position, something they desperately need as they search for a long-term solution.

Fields as a Bridge to the Future

During a recent discussion, Clark explained why Pittsburgh should stick with Fields instead of Wilson.

“I think they should re-sign Justin Fields and here’s why — you can figure out, can he be the guy for the future? And if he bombs, you could go high in the draft and get somebody good. Somebody that could play,” Clark said.

Fields started six games for the Steelers in 2024, going 4-2 and showing improvement in protecting the football. While he still has areas to refine, his mobility and playmaking ability give Pittsburgh a potential building block at quarterback.

Market for Fields if Steelers Move On

If the Steelers choose not to retain Fields, he is expected to draw interest from multiple teams in need of a quarterback. Potential suitors include the New York Jets, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Giants, all of whom could be in the market for a new signal-caller in 2025.

While Fields’ future remains uncertain, a return to Pittsburgh is a real possibility. However, with other teams potentially offering starting opportunities, Fields may have options beyond the Steelers. The coming weeks will determine whether Pittsburgh views him as their quarterback solution or if they decide to move in a different direction.
